Toledo Zoo Solar Array

Designed, developed and built by Rudolph Libbe Group, this 2 MW solar array supplies more than 30 percent of the Toledo Zoo’s electricity, significantly reducing carbon emissions and saving an estimated $200,000 in energy costs.

Located on a foreclosed and contaminated brownfield, the productive solar array reduces the zoo’s carbon footprint and contributes to neighborhood revitalization. The array is among the nation’s largest solar installations to generate power for a zoo.
